Product Description

Azee 500 mg is a prescription antibiotic containing Azithromycin, which belongs to a macrolide antibiotic group. It is used in adults 18 years or older to treat certain bacterial infections. These bacterial infections include sinus infection, acute worsening of chronic bronchitis, infected throat or tonsils, genital ulcers in men, community-acquired pneumonia, skin infections, and infections of the urethra. The macrolide antibiotic may also be given to children to treat community-acquired pneumonia, ear infections, and infected throat or tonsils. Azithromycin should not be given to people who cannot tolerate oral medications because they are severely ill or have certain other risk factors, including hospital-acquired infections, cystic fibrosis, have known suspected bacteria in the blood, are elderly, or have any other medications that can lower the ability of the immune system to fight infections. The antibiotic medication is not for viral infections such as the common cold. It is not whether Azee 500 mg is safe and effective for children with ear infections, community-acquired pneumonia, and sinus infections under six months of age.

How To Use

Take Azithromycin 500 mg exactly as your doctor tells you to take it.  You can take the tablet before or after consuming food. Do not skip any doses of your antibiotic medication or discontinue treatment even if you begin to feel better until you finish the full prescribed treatment unless you develop a serious allergic reaction. Taking too many Azithromycin tablets won’t let you get rid of the infection any faster; it may lead to serious health complications.

Precautions

It is unknown whether Azee 500 mg is safe and effective for genital ulcers in women or infected throat or tonsils in children under two years of age.

Do not take Azithromycin tablets if you have a history of an allergic reaction to macrolide antibiotics or have ever had cholestatic jaundice or hepatic dysfunction that happened due to Azithromycin usage. Before you take Azee, let your doctor know if you have pneumonia, kidney disease, liver problems, cystic fibrosis, muscle weakness, a bacterial infection in the blood, or have any other medical conditions. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant, as the antibiotic drug may harm your unborn baby. Contact your doctor if you are breastfeeding. The antibiotic drug has been reported to pass into breast milk. Discuss with your doctor the best way to feed your baby while you take Azithromycin.

Side Effects

Azee 500 mg can cause serious side effects, including serious allergic reactions. Allergic reaction symptoms include rapid heartbeat, trouble breathing, difficulty swallowing, faintness, swollen lymph nodes, throat tightness, skin rash, hoarseness, swelling of the lips, face, and tongue. Discontinue treatment immediately on the onset of a skin rash and call your doctor. Skin rash may be a sign of a more serious reaction to Azithromycin. Call your doctor straight away if you develop symptoms such as fever, weakness, unusual tiredness, loss of appetite, dark colored urine, itching, stomach pain, nausea, or vomiting, change in the color of your bowel movements.
