Precautions

You should not take Bigomet 500 mg if you are hypersensitive towards Metformin HCl, have liver disease, type 1 diabetes, are breastfeeding, are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, or are suffering from heart associated problems. Some of the drugs that interact with Bigomet 500 mg and can produce hindrance or undesired effects such as Chlorpromazine, Olanzapine, Risperidone, Salbutamol, Salmeterol, Prednisolone, Glucosamine, Oral contraceptives like estrogens and progestogens, thiazide diuretics like bendroflumethiazide, captopril, disopyramide, phenelzine, tranylcypromine, isocarboxazid, and cimetidine.  

Side Effects

Bigomet 500 mg is a very effective and potent antidiabetic drug. Along with the highly therapeutic drug effect, it also exerts some side effects. This is not essential that everyone will encounter side effects associated with Metformin HCL. Common side effects generally happen in the initial stages of the treatment. With the pace of time, it diminishes. Gastrointestinal disturbances such as nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, and anorexia can occur in some patients. Common side effects are changes in taste receptors; a person may feel a metallic taste. Very rare side effects are Chronic use of the drug may cause less absorption of Vitamin B 12, itching, rashes, flushing and other skin reactions, increased level of lactic acid in the blood, and even cause inflammation of the liver.
