Product Description

Brufen 400 mg contains the active ingredient Ibuprofen, which belongs to a group of drugs known as NSAIDs (Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs). It is a pain killer used to relieve pain and inflammation in conditions such as osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, frozen shoulder, lower back pain, swollen joints, tendinitis, bursitis, tenosynovitis, sprains, strains, and lower back pain. Brufen tablets are also effective in treating painful conditions such as toothache, pain after operations, pain after operations, headache, period pain, including migraine.

How To Use

Always take Brufen exactly as you advise if you have any questions regarding the dosing regimen. You may be asked to take medicine before or after consuming food. The tablet should not be swallowed, crushed, or broken to help prevent discomfort in the mouth or irritation in the throat. 

You should avoid excessive use of painkillers. If you usually take painkillers, especially a combination of different painkillers, you may damage your kidneys; let your doctor know if you are taking another painkiller before taking any other medicine. This risk is higher when you are dehydrated.

The use of pain relief drugs for longer periods in some patients has been linked to headaches. Patients have daily or frequent headaches despite regular use of painkillers. Tell your doctor if you have been experiencing headaches while taking this medicine.   

The lowest effective dose should be used for the shortest duration necessary to relieve symptoms. If you have an infection, consult your doctor immediately if symptoms persist for a longer duration or worsen.

Precautions

Before taking Brufen 400 mg, tell your doctor if

       — You are pregnant or planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding. Ibuprofen may make it difficult for women to get pregnant. It is important to inform your doctor [if you are planning to conceive or have problems becoming pregnant

       — You are allergic to any of the ingredients in the medicine

       — You have a history of stomach problems. Do not take Brufen tablets if you have a peptic ulcer or bleeding in your stomach or have had two or more episodes of peptic ulcers or stomach bleeding.

       — You have asthma or have suffered an allergic reaction from wheezing after taking this NSAID, aspirin, or other anti-inflammatory pain killers.

NSAIDs are often associated with an increased risk of heart attack or stroke. The risk is higher with high doses and prolonged treatment. Do not exceed the recommended dose and duration of the treatment. You should discuss with your doctor if you have any doubt regarding the usage of the medicine.

Side Effects

Common side effects with Brufen 400 mg include headaches, dizziness, wind, constipation, and tiredness.

Tell your doctor and discontinue treatment if you experience:

       — Unexplained wheezing skin rash, itching, bruising, shortness of breath, itching, skin rash

       — Unexplained stomach pain or other abnormal stomach symptoms feeling sick, vomiting, heartburn, and indigestion.

       — Loos of vision, blurred vision, or hallucinations
