Candid cream 30 gm is a broad spectrum antimycotic drug that is widely used to treat Candida albicans and other fungal infections. It contains the active ingredient Clotrimazole, which falls into the imidazole subclass of azole drugs. It is the drug of choice for topical treatment of ringworm, athlete’s foot, fungal nappy rash, and fungal sweat rash. Candid cream is also widely used in the topical treatment of vulvovaginal and oropharyngeal candidiasis.

How To Use

Gently massage sufficient Candid cream into the affected and surrounded skin areas twice daily, in the morning and evening. With the relief of pruritus, clinical improvement usually occurs within the initial few weeks of therapy with this antifungal cream. If you do not see clinical improvement after four weeks of treatment, the diagnosis should be reviewed. You should use the medicine for the full treatment time for best results even though the symptoms may have improved. Notify the doctor if there is no improvement after four weeks of regular treatment. Let your doctor know if the area of application shows signs of increased irritation indicative of possible sensitizations. Patients with increased irritation may develop redness, burning, itching, swelling, blistering, and oozing. Avoid the use of occlusive wrappings or dressings during the treatment. Also, avoid things that trigger infection. If irritation or sensitivity develops with topical Clotrimazole, treatment should be discontinued, and appropriate therapy should be instituted.

Precautions

Do not put the topical formulation in your mouth and swallow it. If you accidentally swallow the medication, tell your doctor right away. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membrane. If you accidentally get the cream into your eyes or mouth, thoroughly with water and contact your doctor.  If you forget to use the cream at the prescribed time, apply it as soon as possible and continue with the regular application. Be sure to keep the affected area clean. Do not share clothing, beddings etc., with people as you could spread the infection to them. Pay particular attention if you have dry skin and avoid excessive rubbing. Always wash your hands after treating the infection with candid B cream to prevent skin problems from spreading.

Side Effects

Some of the common side effects of candid cream 30 gm include redness, skin irritation, or itching at the application site. If the side effects bother you or do not resolve, please let your doctor know. Some people have a severe allergic reaction that needs urgent medical attention. Signs of an allergic reaction include rash, swelling of the lips, throat, or face, nausea, dizziness, and breathing problems. Get immediate medical attention if this happens. It is not likely that other medicines you take orally or via intramuscular route will affect how it works but speak to your doctor before using it if you had used a similar medicine before and developed an allergic reaction.
