Product Description

Cetcip-L contains Levocetirizine, which belongs to a class of medications known as antihistamines. It effectively treats various allergic conditions such as conjunctivitis (pink eye), hay fever, some skin reactions, and reactions to bites and stings. It relieves itching, runny nose, sneezing, and watery eye. Levocetirizine also relieves allergic reactions after insect bites and symptoms of eczema and hives such as itching, irritation, and swelling; this helps improve the overall appearance of your skin, and you may find that your self-confidence improves as well.

How To Use

Cetcip L is available as a 5mg breakable tablet, allowing for 2.5 mg if needed. It can be taken without a meal as well.

   — The recommended dose for adults and children twelve years of age and older is one 5 mg tablet once daily in the evening. Some patients may be adequately controlled by 2.5 mg once a day in the evening. The daily dose should not exceed 5 mg once a day in the evening.

   — For children 6 to 11 years of age, the recommended dose is 2.5 mg daily in the evening. The 2.5 mg should not be exceeded because the exposure to the 5 mg dose is approximately two times that of adults.

In adults and children twelve years of age and older:

   — A dose of 2.5 mg once a day is recommended for mild kidney impairment.

   — A dose of 2.5 mg once every other day is recommended for moderate renal insufficiency.

   — For Severe kidney problems, a dose of 2.5 mg twice a week is prescribed

   — End-stage kidney disorder and patients undergoing dialysis should not receive Cetcip-L.

Patients are instructed to follow the dosage prescribed by their doctor and not consume more than the recommended dose of Cetcip-L because of the increased risk of somnolence at a higher dose.

Precautions

The use of Cetcip L is contraindicated in:

  • Patients with known hypersensitivity to Levocetirizine or any of the ingredients of Cetcip-L 5 mg medicine or cetirizine.
  • Patients with end-stage kidney disease and patients undergoing dialysis
  • Children 6 to 11 years of age with impaired kidney function

Some medicines can interact with Levocetirizine, so let your doctor know before using this medicine if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, although it is not harmful.

Side Effects

Cetcip L is generally safe and well tolerated. However, like any other medicine, Cetcip too can cause side effects. The most reported ones include feeling sleepy or dizzy. The side effect is usually mild and resolves after a couple of days as your body adjusts. Talk to your doctor if any side effects worry you or persist for longer. You must avoid alcohol consumption while taking medicine. Levocetirizine rarely causes serious side effects; take this medicine only when you have symptoms. Don’t forget to check with your doctor before using it to prevent symptoms; you should use it regularly to get the most out of it.

I've used this meds for years and love it. It's the only allergy medicine strong enough to keep me 100% clear. Would rate 6 out of 5 if possible.

It's one of the best allergy medicines I have ever tried. It's not too expensive and though prescription is needed for it...obviously.
