Coxib 200 mg is a prescription treatment for patients with rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. It contains the ingredient celecoxib, which belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Your body makes prostaglandins that are responsible for causing pain and inflammation. Your body produces more of these in rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis conditions. Celecoxib reduces the production of prostaglandins, thereby reducing pain and inflammation. This medicine begins to work hours after taking the first dose, but you may not experience a full effect for several days.

Talk to your doctor if you think this medicine is causing any complications. Your doctor will instruct you on what dose you should take as the risk of side effects associated with heart problems may increase with the dose and duration of use. You must take the lowest drug of this NSAID that controls your pain and not take Celecoxib capsules for longer than necessary to manage symptoms.
Cobix capsules are for oral use; Take them with a glass of water. If you have difficulty swallowing capsules, their contents can be sprinkled onto semi-solid food such as applesauce, yoghurt, or mashed banana.
Talk to your doctor within two weeks of starting treatment if you do not experience any benefit.
— For rheumatoid arthritis – The recommended dose is 200 mg and can be increased to a maximum of 400 mg if needed.
— For osteoarthritis – The recommended dose is 200 mg daily, increased by your doctor to a maximum of 400 mg if needed.
— For ankylosing spondylitis – The recommended dose is 200 mg per day, increased by your doctor to a maximum of 400 mg if needed.
Precautions
— Cobix is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Celecoxib or other ingredients contained in the Cobix capsules.
— Patients with allergic-type reactions to sulfonamides should not take Celecoxib capsules.
— The medicine should not be given to patients who have experienced asthma, urticaria, or allergic-type reactions after taking acetylsalicylic acid or NSAIDs. Severe, rarely fatal anaphylaxis reactions to NSAIDs have been reported in such patients.
— Cobix should not be used with other NSAIDs because of the absence of any evidence demonstrating the benefits and adverse reactions.
— This NSAID is contraindicated in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass graft surgery.
— It should not be given to patients with peptic ulceration, gastrointestinal bleeding, congestive heart failure, severe hepatic impairment, or unstable ischemic heart disease.
— Talk to your doctor before taking Celecoxib 200 mg if you smoke, have diabetes, raised blood pressure, and raised cholesterol.
Side Effects
