HCQS tablet contains 200 mg of hydroxychloroquine for oral administration. Hydroxychloroquine is used for the suppressive treatment and treatment of acute attacks of malaria. It is also effective in rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). SLE is an autoimmune disease in which the immune system attack itself, causing widespread inflammation and tissue damage in the affected organs. The condition can affect the joints, brain, lungs, kidneys, skin, and blood vessels. HCQS or OXCQ works by reducing inflammation in people with an autoimmune disorder.
How To Use
Take HCQS tablet by mouth. Swallow the pill with a meal or a glass of milk. This will prevent you from getting stomach problems. You should take medicine regularly as directed by your doctor. Continue taking Hydroxychloroquine, finish the course even if you feel better in the middle of the treatment.
Precautions
Do not take HCQS if you are allergic to Hydroxychloroquine, other similar medicines such quinolones and quinine or any other inactive substances of the medicine. People with eye problems affect the retina, change eye colour, or any other eye problem.
Talk to your doctor if you have psoriasis, heart problems, kidney problems, stomach issues, problems with your nervous system or brain.
Antimalarial compounds should be used with caution in patients with liver disease or alcoholism. Children are particularly sensitive to the toxic effect of quinolones; therefore, the medicine should be kept out of the reach of children. Tell your doctor if you take other medicines, including those you bring without a prescription.
Dermatologic reactions to HCQS may occur, and therefore, proper caution should be exercised when given to any patient receiving a drug with a significant tendency to produce dermatitis. The use of Hydroxychloroquine in patients with psoriasis may precipitate a severe attack of psoriasis.
Some medicines may increase the chance of getting side effects when taken with HCQS tablets. These include antibiotics used for infections, medicines for stomach ulcers.
Children are especially sensitive to Hydroxychloroquine. Several fatalities have been reported following the accidental ingestion of even smaller doses of this drug. You should keep these medicines out of the reach of children.
Side Effects
Common side effects of HCQS or OXCQ are headaches, skin rash, sickness, diarrhoea, loss of appetite, and mood changes (examples of uncontrollable laughing or crying).
