Montair 10 mg is a prescription drug that helps to improve symptoms of asthma and allergic rhinitis. It has the active ingredient montelukast sodium, which works by blocking substances in the body called leukotrienes. The medicine effectively prevents asthma attacks; your doctor may prescribe it for the long-term treatment of asthma in adults and children ages twelve months and older. Montair is not effective in treating a sudden asthma attack. If you get an asthma attack, you should follow your doctor’s instructions for treating a sudden asthma attack. Montelukast sodium prevents exercise-induced asthma in people 15 years of age and older. Your doctor may also prescribe Montair tablets the help control the symptoms of allergic rhinitis. It helps you get rid of a stuffy nose, sneezing, itching of the nose, and runny nose. The medicine can help you out if you have developed outdoor or indoor allergies that happen part of the year. How To Use

Take Montair 10 mg exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Your doctor will tell you how much to take and when to take it. Sudden discontinuation may cause serious side effects; therefore, do not stop the medication or change the dose without discussing it with your doctor. You can take the tablet before or after consuming food. If you or your child misses a dose, take the next dose at your regular time. Do not take more doses to compensate for the missed dose. The medicine is not meant to treat a sudden asthma attack. To prevent a sudden asthma episode, use a rescue inhaler recommended by your doctor. Make sure you always carry your rescue medication with you. Do not stop your asthma medicine or lower your asthma drug dose unless your doctor advises you.

Asthma in patients 15 years of age and older are advised to take medicine at least two hours before exercise. If you are advised to take Montair 10mg every day for chronic asthma or allergic rhinitis, do not take another dose to prevent exercise-induced asthma. Precautions

Do not take Montair 10mg if you are allergic to any of its ingredients. Side Effects

The most common side effects of Montair 10mg include sore throat, diarrhea, runny nose, fever, stomach pain, cough, sinus infection, headache, and ear infection. Inform your doctor if you have any side effect that becomes troublesome or does not go away.
