Product Description

Nucoxia 90 mg contains the active ingredient Etoricoxib, categorized under the class of drugs known as selective COX-2 inhibitors. It belongs to a family of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Etoricoxib helps to reduce the pain and swelling in the joints and muscles of people 16 years of age and older with rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis (an inflammatory disease of the spine and large joints), and gout (sudden, recurring attacks of very painful inflammation and redness in the joints. Your doctor may also prescribe Nucoxia for the short-term treatment of moderate pain after dental surgery in people 16 years and older.  

How To Use

Follow the instructions carefully provided by your doctor. You should check with your doctor if you have any doubts about the drug’s usage. Stick to the dosing regimen provided by your doctor. Do not take more or less than the recommended amount. Your doctor will recommend the lowest dose that controls your pain, and you should not take a Nucoxia tablet for longer than necessary. This is because the risk of heart attacks and stroke might be increased after a longer-term treatment, especially after higher doses.  

Nucoxia is for oral use. It can be taken with or without food. The maximum recommended dose is 90 mg once a day. If you have liver problems, consult your doctor. Children and adolescents should not use Etoricoxib under 16. No adjustments of doses are required in elderly patients. As with other pharmaceutical agents, caution should be taken in elderly patients.

Moreover, you should not take more tablets than your doctor recommends. If you take too many of these tablets, you should seek immediate medical help. If you have further questions about medicine usage, please consult your doctor.  

Precautions

Talk to your doctor before taking Nucoxia 90 mg if any of the following applies to you:

   — History of liver or kidney disease

   — History of stomach bleeding or ulcers

   — History of high blood pressure

   — Being treated for an infection

   — Diabetes, high cholesterol, or being a smoker. These can increase your risk of heart disease

   — Dehydrated due to prolonged bout of diarrhoea and vomiting

   — Women who are trying to become pregnant

   — People over 65 years of age

Etoricoxib tablets do well in older and younger adult patients. If you are above 65 years of age, your doctor will want to keep a check on you approximately.  

Tell your doctor if you are taking any other medicine, including those you get without a prescription. In particular, if you are taking any of the following:

   — An antibiotic such as rifampicin

   — Medicines that thin your blood, such as warfarin

   — Ciclosporin or tacrolimus for suppressing the immune system

   — Medicines that help to control blood pressure and heart failure

   — Diuretics, a water tablet

   — Digoxin for heart failure and irregular heart rhythm

   — Minoxidil for high blood pressure

   — Salbutamol for asthma

   — Birth control pills

   — Hormonal replacement therapy

   — Lithium to treat some types of depression

   — Methotrexate for suppressing the immune system and is also used in rheumatoid arthritis

Side Effects

Like all medicines, Nucoxia 90 mg can cause side effects; not everybody experiences them. If you develop any of these signs, you should stop taking Etoricoxib tablets and talk to your doctor immediately:

• Severe or continual stomach pain
• Chest pain, shortness of breath, or ankle swelling
• An allergic reaction can include skin problems such as skin issues such as ulcers or swelling of the lips, tongue, or throat, which may cause difficulty breathing.

Talk to your doctor immediately if you get any unwanted effects from this medicine.
