Odoxil 250 mg is an antibiotic intended for oral administration. It contains the active ingredient Cefadroxil, which acts by killing the infection-causing bacteria. It is useful in treating ear, throat, urinary tract, skin, and soft tissue bacterial infections. This antibiotic usually makes you feel better within a few days, but you should continue to take the medicine as the doctor prescribes, even if your symptoms have improved.    

How To Use

Odoxil 250 mg should only be used to treat bacterial infections. Follow your doctor’s advice regarding the dosage and duration of the treatment. It is acid-stable and may be taken without regard to meals. Taking it with food may help diminish stomach problems occasionally associated with this oral antibiotic. Do not stop taking the medication until you have finished, even if your condition has improved. Stopping the antibacterial treatment too early may make some bacteria survive, and the infection may return. Cefadroxil will not work for viral infections like the common cold or flu. Using any antibiotic medicine when you don’t need it can make it less effective. Also, make sure that your child does not miss a dose of Odoxil 250 mg, as it may cause the growth of harmful bacteria within their body, which can’t be further controlled by taking the Odoxil 250 mg tablet.  

Precautions

Odoxil 250 mg is contraindicated in patients with known allergy to this antibiotic medicine. It should be used cautiously for patients with known hypersensitivity to this antibiotic. This antibiotic medicine should be used cautiously for patients with known hypersensitivity to penicillin. Before you take it, you should be informed about all medications you are taking as they may affect or be affected by this medicine.     

Side Effects

Most side effects are minor and will resolve as your body adjusts to the medicine. If they do not resolve or you are concerned about them, please speak to your doctor. Common side effects of the medicine include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, rash, stomach pain, and allergic reaction.
