Oflox 5ml is an anti-effective ophthalmic solution for topical use. It treats outer eye infections such as conjunctivitis (pink eye). The ophthalmic solution contains Ofloxacin. It is not effective against viral infections. Ofloxacin interferes with bacterial growth and division, eliminating the infection-causing bacteria. Misuse or overuse of Oflox eye drops could lead to the growth of bacteria that Ofloxacin will not kill. This means the antibacterial drug will not work for you in the future.

How To Use

Follow your ophthalmologist’s instructions to help avoid side effects and proper use of Oflox eye drops. The usual adult dose is every two to four hours for the first two initial days of the treatment and then four times daily in the affected eyes for eight days. 

Oflox eye drop contains a preservative called benzalkonium chloride which may cause discolouration of contact lenses. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before using Oflox eye drops. You must wait fifteen minutes after using the drops before you wear lenses again. Always use Ofloxacin as your ophthalmologist has instructed you. Although you may feel better during the initial days of the treatment, it is important to complete the full course of treatment.

Usage instructions

      — Wash your hands thoroughly.

      — Gently pull the lower eyelid with one hand and squeeze the bottle to release a drop of the ophthalmic solution.

To avoid contamination, do not let the tip of the dropper touch your eye or any other skin’s surface. Proper eye drop application is very important; if you have any questions regarding the use of Oflox, please ask your doctor.  

Precautions

Do not use Oflox 5ml if you have a history of allergic reaction to Ofloxacin or other medicine ingredients; talk to your ophthalmologist before using this ophthalmic solution. Talk about any health complications or problems you may have, including if you: 

      — Wear contact lenses

      — Have damage to the surface of the eye

      — Are you pregnant or planning to conceive

      — Are you breastfeeding or planning to breastfeed

 If you develop pain or swelling in your tendons, discontinue treatment and get immediate medical help. This is more likely to affect older people who are taking corticosteroids at the same time as Oflox.   

Using Ofloxacin eye drops may cause temporary blurry vision. You must not drive or indulge in machinery work until your vision has cleared.   

Side Effects

Oflox 5ml helps most people with eye infections, but it may have unwanted effects on a few people. Sometimes they are serious, but most of the time, they do not cause any serious complications. You may need medical treatment if you develop side effects with Tobramycin eye drops. You should see your ophthalmologist if you develop eye irritation, temporary burning, eyelid swelling, stinging sensation, dryness, light sensitivity, blurred vision, tearing, redness, eye pain, or a feeling that something in your eye.
