Product Description

Resteclin 500 mg is an antibiotic medicine used to treat bacterial infections in your body. It contains Tetracycline, a broad-spectrum antibiotic, which is a substance with antibacterial action. This antibiotic medicine treats a wide range of infections caused by bacteria. These include:

     — Infections of the respiratory tract such as pneumonia, whooping cough, or bronchitis

     — Infections of the urinary tract

     — Skin infections such as acne

     — Infections of the eye such as conjunctivitis

     — Sexually transmitted diseases such as chlamydia, syphilis or gonorrhoea

     — Other infections include psittacosis (headache, nosebleeds, fever, shivering), cholera (severe sickness and diarrhoea), plaque (painful swelling of the lymph nodes), and psittacosis brucellosis (fever, swollen lymph nodes, fever, headache, and fever),

     — Tetracycline formulation may also be prescribed to treat leptospirosis (fever causing jaundice or meningitis), tetanus (lockjaw), and gas-gangrene.

How To Use

Take the Resteclin capsule exactly as your doctor has prescribed you. Discuss with your doctor if you have any doubts about using this medicine. Swallow the capsule an hour before or two hours after a meal, followed by a glass full of water. Swallow the capsule when standing or sitting down, do not take them before going to bed. The doctor will best decide the dose and duration. To avoid side effects, take this tetracycline formulation under a doctor’s supervision.

Precautions

You should not take Resteclin 500 mg capsules if you are allergic to Tetracycline or similar antibiotics such as doxycycline, minocycline, or any other ingredients in the medicine. Do not take medicine if you have had any of the following conditions:

     — Kidney or liver problems for a long time.     

     — Systemic lupus erythematosus, a condition characterized by rash, especially on the face 

     — Child under twelve years old.

Speak to your doctor before taking Resteclin 500 g capsules if you suffer from muscle weakness, difficulty chewing/swallowing, and slurred speech. Your doctor should also be aware if you are sensitive to sunlight. Tetracycline formulation should not be given to children under twelve as it may cause permanent discolouration of tooth enamel and affect their development. Tell your doctor if you are taking any other medicine, especially penicillin antibiotics, vitamin A, oral retinoids, contraceptives, anticoagulants, diuretics, antidiabetic agents, etc. Do not simultaneously take Resteclin 500 mg capsules as milk or food; they can make the medicine less effective.   

Side Effects

Stop taking the capsule immediately and seek urgent medical advice if the following side effects occur:

     — Symptoms of increased pressure in the skull. These include headache, ringing in the ears, dizziness, and visual problems (blind spots, blurred vision, and double vision).

     — Symptoms of an allergic reaction include swelling of your face, eyelids, lips, tongue, chest pain or tightness, sudden wheezing, and chest pain.

     — Symptoms of severe skin rash. These include fever, reddening, blisters or ulcers, fever, peeling, or skin swelling.

     — Severe diarrhoea that may have blood or mucus during or after the treatment.

     — Inflammation of the pancreas causes tenderness and pain in the back and abdomen.
