Retino A micro 0.04% 15 gm is a topical prescription medication your dermatologist may prescribe to treat acne. Each gram of Retino A microsphere contains 0.4mg of Tretinoin. Topical retinoids are considered the first-line therapy in the treatment of acne. It works to speed up turnover rates, making dead skin cells shed more easily and effectively than they would on their own. Tretinoin’s regular application helps remove dead skin cells, and oil trapped within the pore becomes less sticky, thus reducing acne breakouts. Retinoids help reduce non-inflamed breakouts, like blackheads, as well as inflamed pimples. The product can be associated with cutaneous irritation, including dryness, peeling, itching, burning, and erythema
How To Use
Retino A micro gel 0.04% 15 gm should be applied once daily at night before you go to sleep. Apply to the skin where acne lesions appear, using enough to cover the entire affected area. Make sure you cleanse the area thoroughly before you apply the medication. The excessive application will not produce rapid results and may cause redness, peeling, or discomfort. You may also experience stinging on applications. In case of a serious problem, one can temporarily discontinue treatment or reduce the frequency of application under the supervision of a dermatologist. The dermatologist should closely monitor the frequency of application.
You may notice results after two weeks, but more than seven weeks of treatment is required before consistent beneficial effects are observed. During the initial days of this acne therapy, an apparent exacerbation of inflammatory lesions may occur. Keep the product away from the eyes, mouth, nose, and mucous membranes.
Precautions
Concomitant topical medications, harsh soaps and cleansers, products with strong drying effects, astringents, alcohol-containing products, and other counter-formulations may interact with Tretinoin. Avoid applying lemon peel on your facial skin while using Retino A microgel. Caution should be exercised with the simultaneous usage of topical over the counter acne formulations containing resorcinol, sulfur, benzoyl peroxide, or salicylic acid. Unprotected exposure to sunlight, including sunlamps, should be avoided, or the frequency of application should be reduced while using Retino A microgel. Individuals who may be required to have extended periods of UV exposure should exercise caution. Use of sunscreen products and protective clothing over treated areas is recommended when sun exposure cannot be completely avoided.
Side Effects
Some users may develop local irritation, and the skin becomes excessively red, dry, swollen, or blistered. Retin A microgel can cause severe irritation, particularly on eczematous skin and should be used with caution in patients with the condition. In case of severe irritation, your dermatologist may ask you to reduce the frequency of application temporarily. If sensitivity occurs, users should discontinue the use of retinoid preparation. To reduce irritation, you must wash the treated skin gently with a mild soap or cleanser. Avoid scrubbing your skin hard when washing. You should apply a topical moisturizer to your skin if dryness is a problem.
