Susten 100 mg/1ml intramuscular Injection is a sterile oil solution that should be taken through an intramuscular route indicated for the treatment of infertility in women by regulating ovulation and stimulating the release of an egg from the ovaries, used in the maintenance of early pregnancy in cases of documented history of repeated miscarriages due to luteal phase defect. This may also be used during in vitro fertilization when a woman has infertility.

Susten 100mg/1ml is also used in hormone replacement therapy to help relieve symptoms of menopause, such as night sweats, hot flushes, vaginal dryness,  mood swings, and reduced sex drive. This treatment can enhance your daily life and mood. Progesterone is one of two important hormones used in hormone replacement therapy. However, it is ineffective in treating all the symptoms, so seek an expert’s advice for information.    

How To Use

Susten100 mg/ 1 ml intramuscular Injection is available as an Injection. A sterile oil solution should be given through an Intramuscular route. It is advised to use this medication exactly as per your doctor’s instructions, and it should not be self-administered at home. Do not use this drug if it looks lumpy or grainy, discolored, or if the bottle or vial looks frosted. You may be asked to take this medication for some time after you receive the confirmation that you are pregnant.  

Precautions

Susten may suit everyone, and you should inform your healthcare provider if you have or have had unusual bleeding in the vagina, liver disease, or breast cancer. You may be monitored more carefully if you are suffering from kidney, liver, or heart problems or have diabetes or asthma. Check with your health care professional about all medicines that may affect or be affected by these medicines. You may be asked to have several tests both before and during treatments to check your womb. This drug can alter your thinking or response, and you may feel tired, so take extra caution if you drive or need to be attentive.

Side Effects

The most common side effects include nausea, vomiting, headache, bloating, and abdominal pain.   Some patients may also feel less interested in sex and get pain or discharge in the vagina. Your healthcare provider may be able to help you reduce or prevent side effects and seek immediate medical help if they become troublesome or are not resolved with time. Occasionally, people experience allergic reactions that require urgent medical help. The use of this medicine increases the risk of blood clots or breast cancer.
