T-Bact Ointment 15 gm contains the active ingredient Mupirocin, an antibiotic agent that works to stop certain bacteria’s growth. It is a prescription medicine used topically to treat skin infection called impetigo caused by bacteria. It is unknown if the topical product is safe and effective in children under two months of age.   

How To Use

Use T-Bact ointment only as directed by the doctor.  Avoid contact with eyes, nose, and mouth. If the cream gets into your eyes, rinse thoroughly with water. Report to the doctor any signs of adverse reactions. The medicine should be stopped if severe itching, irritation, or rash occurs. If no improvement occurs in 3 to 5 days, contact the doctor. The effect of Mupirocin and other topical formulation can interact with each other and reduce the effects of either of the medication.  Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you. Check with your doctor if you are not sure about the usage of the medicine. Do not mix this ointment with any other topical product, as this may reduce the effectiveness of the drug.    

Precautions

Speak to your doctor before using Mupirocin ointment if you have severe skin reactions or allergies. A yeast infection such as thrush may develop if the medication for a long duration. If this happens to you, tell your doctor straight away. Keep the medication away from your eyes. If the cream gets into your eyes, rinse them thoroughly. Inform your doctor if you are using any other medicine. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding or might get pregnant, ask your doctor for advice before using the medicine. You usually apply Mupirocin on your skin 2 to 3 times a day. Before use, wash and dry your hands. Apply the topical formulation all over the affected area of your skin. Use it for as long as your doctor has told you. If you have any doubt related to the usage of the medicine. The bacteria get eliminated in ten days of starting the treatment. Let your doctor know if you have kidney problems or have open wounds.  

Side Effects

Like all medicines, T Bact ointment 15 gm can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Severe skin reactions and allergies are rare in people using T-Bact cream. Signs and symptoms include an itchy rash, loss of consciousness, and swelling of the face or mouth, causing breathlessness. Contact a doctor straight away and discontinue treatment if you get a severe skin reaction. Meanwhile, you can wash off the medication. Rarely, the topical antibiotic can cause colon’s inflammation, causing diarrhoea, usually with stomach pain, fever, blood and mucus. You may also experience burning where the ointment is applied. Rarely people get swollen face or difficulty breathing. This is a sign of an allergic reaction. If you get any side effect, speak to your doctor straight away.
