Product Description

Tiniba 300 mg contains the active ingredient Tinidazole, an anti-infective agent used to treat various bacterial infections. It is useful in treating the following infections:

• Infections of the blood, skin, lung, chest, womb lining, and genitals
• vaginal infections
• An infection associated with stomach ulcers in conjunction with other medications
• Stomach infection -amoebiasis and giardiasis
• A genital infection called trichomoniasis

Tinidazole is also effective against certain surgical operations to prevent the development of bacterial infections.

How To Use

Before you start the treatment, read the prescription carefully provided by your doctor.  It will give you brief information about the medications and let you know about the side effects you could experience from taking it. Take the tablet exactly as your doctor told you to; the dose you are given will depend upon the type of infection you have. For most dental and vaginal infections, you are likely to be asked to take a single dose of four tablets. For other bacterial infections, you need to continue taking medicine for up to a week. Your doctor will tell you what dose is correct for you. Continue treatment until the course is finished. Your symptoms could return if you discontinue treatment before the end of the course. Take the tablet at mealtime or with a snack. Swallow the tablet with a glass of water.

Do not drink alcohol while receiving Tiniba tablets and for three days after finishing the treatment. This is because a combination of alcohol and Tinidazole is likely to make you feel extremely sick and cause other unpleasant effects. If you buy any over the counter products, check with your doctor if they are safe to take with Tinidazole. Also, some cold and cough formulations contain a considered amount of alcohol which can affect your health. If you need to take this anti-infective medicine for longer than ten days, your doctor will perform some tests and make sure you do not miss any doctor’s appointment. Tinidazole can stop the oral typhoid vaccine from working properly. If you due to have any vaccination, please let your doctor know.  

Precautions

Do not take Tiniba 300 mg if you are allergic to Tinidazole or other ingredients of the medicine. Some medicines are not suitable for people with certain conditions, and sometimes a medicine should be used with extra care.  For these reasons, before taking Tiniba 300 mg, it is important to let your doctor know if you drink alcohol, have a rare inherited blood disorder called porphyria, are pregnant or breastfeeding. Your doctor should also be aware of all the medications that you have been using any other medicines, including that you obtained over the counter.

Side Effects

Tiniba 300 mg can cause unwanted side effects along with beneficial effects, although not everyone who receives the anti-infective therapy experiences them. Common Tinidazole side effects are headache, lack of appetite, feeling sick, stomach pain, or a spinning sensation, itchy skin rash. Most of these side effects disappear following a few measures such as sticking to simple foods, avoiding high-fat meals, or drinking enough water.
