Product Description

Asthalin Respule 2.5 ml is a prescription medicine for managing chronic bronchospasm unresponsive to conventional therapy and treating severe acute asthma. As instructed by our doctor, the product is for inhalation purposes only, to be inhaled through the mouth via a nebulizer.  

Use the medicine with a power-operated nebulizer device. The mist produced from the device is then inhaled through a face mask or mouthpiece. Don’t let the formulation or the mist produced by the nebulizer get in your eyes. Consider wearing glasses/goggles to protect your eyes. If you have any doubt about the usage instruction, consult your doctor, they will show you how to use your medicine. Use the nebulizer as recommended by your doctor, and make sure your child uses the device under your supervision.

How To Use

The usual suggested dose is 2.5 mg as a single dose. Your doctor may ask to repeat the treatment up to four times a day. Salbutamol is the active ingredient of the medicine, has a duration of action of 4 to 6 hours in most patients. Asthalin Respules is meant to be used undiluted. However, if a prolonged delivery time is prescribed (more than ten times), then dilution with sodium chloride solution for nebulization or sterile sodium chloride injection may be needed. 

Asthalin is made to be used with a nebulizer under the supervision of a doctor. The liquid formulation should not be swallowed or injected. In patients with uncontrolled or severe asthma, bronchodilators should not be the first choice of treatment. A regular medical assessment is required, including lung function testing, as they are at risk of severe attacks and even death. Increasing the use of bronchodilators to relieve symptoms could cause deterioration of asthma control.

Precautions

Do not take Asthalin results if you are hypersensitive to Salbutamol or any of the inactive ingredients of the medicine. Also, avoid using it if you unexpectedly go into early labour or threaten abortion. Before using Salbutamol, talk to your doctor if you have active asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure, overactive thyroid gland, glaucoma, or heart condition. Let your doctor know if you are taking water tablets, steroids, xanthines, or are taking another nebulizer solution. Let your doctor know if you are taking any other medicine, including medicines that can interact with the Salbutamol nebulizer solution. Such medicines include medicines for irregular or fast heartbeats such as propranolol and other medicines for asthma. Please let your doctor know if you are taking non-prescription medicines, including vitamins and herbal supplements. 

Side Effects

Contact your doctor or visit your nearest emergency health care centre if you experience any serious side effects associated with Asthalin Respules. Tachycardia, when your heartbeat is much faster than usual, is commonly reported with the medicine. Rarely, low blood potassium or chest pain due to heart problems (angina) may occur. An allergic reaction is rare with the use of Salbutamol. The signs of an allergic reaction include difficulty in breathing, wheezing, a rash, itching, especially affecting the whole body, feeling faint and collapsing.
