Ivabrad 5 mg is used for patients who are experiencing worsening heart failure with stable chronic heart failure, whose resting heart rate is more than 70 beats per minute, in whom beta-blockers are not producing desired effects, or in whom beta-blockers are contraindicated. The active ingredient of the medicine Ivabradine is used for symptomatic management of angina pectoris. Angina pectoris is the sensation of chest pain or pressure. This occurs due to decreased oxygen supply to the heart muscle or spasm of the coronary arteries. Angina pectoris may result due to anaemia, heart failure, but its main cause is coronary heart disease. Ivabradine is prescribed when traditional beta-blockers and calcium-channel blockers alone cannot provide relief. It can also be used in combination with these drugs to provide maximum relief.

How To Use

Ivabrand is recommended to be taken at a dose of 5 mg twice daily with meals. The dose at which the heart rate is 50-60 beats per minute is to be maintained. If the heart rate lowers below 50 beats per minute, the dose should be decreased to 2.5 mg twice daily. If the heart rate is above 60 beats per minute, the dose should be 7.5 mg twice a day. Precautions

Ivabrand 5 mg should not be used with patients suffering from sick sinus syndrome. Pregnant or lactating women should not take it. The use of Ivabradine in children is not recommended. Ivabrand should not be taken by patients experiencing acute decompensated heart failure, low blood pressure, and low heart rate (less than 60 beats per minute). Side Effects
