Product Description

Nexpro 20 mg contains an active ingredient, esomeprazole, which is a proton pump inhibitor. It reduces acid production in the stomach and treats the following conditions:

• Gastrointestinal reflux disease occurs when the stomach escapes into the gullet, causing pain, inflammation, and heartburn.
• Ulcers in the stomach or intestines – Individuals having ulcers are infected with bacteria called H. pylori. If you have this condition, your doctor may also prescribe an antibiotic to treat the infection and allow ulcers to heal.
• In adults
• Nexpro 20 treats stomach ulcers caused by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
• Excessive amount of acid caused by a growth of pancreas. The condition is referred to as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.

How To Use

Nexpro is not recommended for children less than 12 years old. If you are taking the tablets for a long time, your doctor will monitor your condition. The medicine is available in the form of tablets at any time of the day. You can take the tablet with food or an empty stomach. Swallow the tablet with a drink of water. Follow your doctor’s advice. Your doctor will tell you how many tablets to take and for how long to take them. The dose usually depends on the patient’s condition and how well your liver works.

Precautions

Nexpro is not suitable for pregnant and breastfeeding women; it should not be given to patients with Vitamin B12. This drug is not suitable if the patient has a low amount of magnesium in the blood. Do not take Nexpro 20 if you have allergies to esomeprazole or any other ingredients of the medicine. It is not suitable for those patients who have a sugar intolerance because this drug contains sucrose. Use this gastrointestinal drug with caution in the elderly; this may cause diarrhea.

Side Effects

Tell your doctor if you have any side effects that bothers you or does not go away. Side effects of Nexpro include low blood pressure, fatigue, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, hives, itching, rash, headache, and dizziness. Some rare and serious side effects include fever, shortness of breath, blurred vision, muscle spasm, blood count changes (lack of white blood cells), and lightheadedness.
